Bill Allred is a Jazz trombonist, band leader, producer, event director, and arranger who has performed in the Wild Bill Davidson Jazz Band, The Goodtime Jazz Band the U.S. Navy Band, at Walt Disney World Big Band, and with Jack Teagarden, Billy Butterfield, Al Hirt, Clark Terry, Dizzy Gillespie, Mel Torme, Al Cohen, Zoot Sims, Snooky Young, Ross Tomkins, Bob Cooper, Milt Hinton, Bob Haggart, Butch Miles, Tom Saunders, and Chuck Hedges,

Bill Allred was born in Rock Island, Mississippi

His father, John Allred, was a Jazz pianist and banjoist who worked primarily on the Strickfus Line, a passenger steamboat company operating on the Mississippi and Ohio rivers, and in and around New Orleans. .

Bill took up trombone at Rock Island High School. He continued to play at St. Ambrose College, and then performed for the U.S. Navy Band.

Career Edit

In 1971, Allred auditioned as a staff musician at the Walt Disney World Attraction In Orlando, Florida. He was one of the original two-hundred selected from over 2,500 who auditioned.

In 1974, He organized, and became the leader of The Goodtime Jazz Band, which performed largely at Rosie O’Grady’s in Orlando, Florida. He produced the World-Famous Goodtime Show there for over 15 years, functioning as both the stage’s Entertainment Director, and as a Band Leader.

In 1991 Bill returned to Walt Disney World as a Staff Musician. He also operates a production company in Orlando, performs freelance, works as a clinician, and music educator, and records at gigs at clubs and Jazz festitivals in the United States, and Europe.

For Some Years, Bill Was A Member Of The Wild Bill Davison Jazz Band, Traveling To Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, England, South America And At Many Other Festivals And Concerts Worldwide. Bill Still Remains A Member Of Wild Bill Davison Legacy Band, A Group Championed By Cornetist Tom Saunders. The Wild Bill Legacy Recently Performed Concerts In Lacrosse, Wisconsin And Sacramento And Returned To Europe In 1995 On Their 10th Anniversary Tour.
